Terms of Service

The rules for using Pickle Island — booking courts, joining open play, and playing on-site at our Guimaras location. Governed by Philippine law. Last updated August 2026.

Accounts

You need an account to reserve a court as a member or join the open play queue. You’re responsible for keeping your password private and for anything that happens under your account. Give us accurate contact info so we can reach you about a booking if needed.

Signing up requires drawing a signature to confirm you’ve read and agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Waiver & Release of Liability. Under the Electronic Commerce Act (Republic Act No. 8792), that drawn signature is a legally binding electronic signature, equivalent to a signature on paper. We keep a record of it and the time it was given.

Bookings & Open Play

Court reservations are first-come, first-served and are paid at booking time through our payment processor, PayMongo — completing checkout is what confirms the reservation. The court is held for you for a short window while payment processes; if it isn’t completed in time, the hold is released so someone else can book it. Any add-ons (rental equipment, drinks, and similar items) and promo codes are applied and paid in that same checkout.

Open play costs ₱150 per visit, paid on-site, and buys 5 hours of court access from the moment you’re checked in — the clock runs for the whole duration of your stay, including time spent waiting in the queue. Active members join the open play queue at no per-visit charge for as long as their membership is active. If you leave the queue with time still on the clock, you can rejoin the same day at no extra charge; it doesn’t carry over once the day ends. Not showing up for a confirmed reservation may be recorded as a no-show.

Cancellations & Refunds

Confirmed reservations can be cancelled from your account any time before they start. A reservation paid online through PayMongo is refunded automatically to the same payment method once cancelled. A reservation paid in person at the front desk (cash, GCash, or QRPh) is refunded by staff on request — ask at the counter or message us. Membership fees are non-refundable once the term has started, since the pass is priced as a fixed term rather than metered usage.

Membership

Membership passes are purchased through your account for a fixed term (1, 6, or 12 months) with a single online payment through PayMongo — there’s no auto-renewal or recurring billing. While your membership is active, it waives the per-visit open play fee. A pass expires automatically at the end of its term; message us if you have billing questions.

Court Conduct

Play safely, follow staff instructions, and treat other members and guests with respect. We can end a session, decline a booking, or suspend an account for unsafe play, abuse of the booking/queue system, or disruptive behavior toward staff or other players.

Assumption of Risk

Pickleball, like any physical activity, carries a real risk of injury — collisions, falls, strains, and being struck by a ball or paddle among them. By booking a court or joining open play, you acknowledge that risk and choose to play anyway, for yourself and any guest or minor you bring along (a parent or guardian must accept this on a minor’s behalf). Full detail is in our Waiver & Release of Liability, which every account holder agrees to at signup.

Come appropriately equipped and warmed up, and stop playing (and tell a staff member) if you’re hurt or unwell. Pickle Island isn’t responsible for injuries that arise from ordinary participation in the sport.

Liability

Facilities and equipment are provided as-is. To the fullest extent permitted by Philippine law, Pickle Island isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the courts or site, or for injury arising from the ordinary risks of pickleball described above and in our Waiver. Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited — including liability for fraud, gross negligence, or willful misconduct, which remains fully enforceable under the Civil Code of the Philippines regardless of any waiver signed.

Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Waiver are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, including the Civil Code and the Consumer Act (Republic Act No. 7394) where applicable to purchases made through the site or at the front desk. Any dispute arising from your use of Pickle Island will be brought in the proper courts of Guimaras, without prejudice to any barangay conciliation or small-claims process the law requires first.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as the club or the site changes. Material changes will ask returning members to sign again the next time it matters (e.g. a new season or policy). Questions? Reach us on Facebook.
